Find Presence Correlation

December 3, 2024

In Trackingplan, properties are inferred automatically—both their types and their presence, alerting you if a required property is missing.

Until now, you’ve always had the option to click Trackingplan’s Debug Warning to uncover correlated issues. Yet, exploring this correlation properly was not possible with those properties marked as optional, as no warning was triggered.

That’s why now, you can go to any property that isn’t complete, even if it’s optional, to easily understand why these are not arriving 100% of the time.

What does this mean?

Trackingplan’s latest feature helps you debug and analyze data issues more effectively by identifying correlations for incomplete properties.

Previously, optional properties often went unnoticed when incomplete. Now, you can actively investigate optional properties that don’t always arrive, providing a more comprehensive view of your data quality and helping you uncover hidden issues that could affect the completeness of your data.

Actionable Debugging with ‘Find Correlations’

The new Find Correlations button enables you to uncover patterns and relationships between properties, events, or page conditions, streamlining the debugging process.

This feature not only identifies missing data but also helps you understand why it’s missing, providing actionable insights for resolution.

To use it, follow this instructions:

Navigate to the Property in Question

  • Go to the Trackingplan dashboard and select the property that isn’t arriving 100% of the time. You'll be able to look for properties with incomplete data, whether they’re marked as required, nullable, or optional.

Click the Find Correlations Button

  • Once on the property, click the new Find Correlations button.
  • Trackingplan will automatically analyze the property across your DataLayer, page, and events.

Analyze the Results

  • View the identified correlations to understand patterns affecting the property’s presence.
  • Use this information to investigate further or take immediate action to address inconsistencies.

Benefits of Using This Feature

  1. Enhanced Debugging Capabilities
    • Go beyond required properties and ensure all your data is complete and consistent, regardless of property type.
  2. Proactive Data Quality Management
    • Resolve potential issues before they escalate into significant tracking errors or inaccurate analysis.
  3. Streamlined Troubleshooting Process
    • Quickly identify root causes of missing data, saving time and effort in debugging complex tracking setups.
  4. Better Decision-Making
    • Ensure that your analytics reports are based on accurate, complete data for more reliable insights and business decisions.
